WELCOME to the
spotlight.
A workshop on visibility.
I believe if you feel a calling toward a spotlight, a platform of any kind, that there’s a reason for it. That there is some idea or expression that wants to move through perhaps, but even more vitally, that there is an aspect of yourself calling out for expansion and validation, for attention that it has long been denied.
We treat a desire for attention like a trait of immaturity, when it’s SO human. We are social creatures. Our earliest learning comes from the mirror of our caregivers’ faces. We crave attention because it orients us and reflects our humanity back to us.
I think the desire for the spotlight is one worth following not because “fame” is strictly affirming, or in itself provides much beyond an expanded network of opportunity, but because the act of honoring your desire for attention and the attention you give to yourself throughout the creative process heals shame and self suppression. It sets you free to be YOU, loud and proud, to take up space and celebrate yourself.
Each work of art or piece of content that you release into the world is a declaration: here I am! Which is one of the oldest impulses in human history - to leave our handprints on the cave wall or the concrete, to trace our initials on tree trunks, to graffiti the city walls. To leave a mark on the world, however big or small, that says, if only for a brief moment, I was here. I existed. And the only person in the world who can do that for you, the only person on the planet with your specific handprint… is you.

THE SPOTLIGHT is for you if you are:
Ready to step out onto a literal or metaphorical stage to share your work, your ideas, and yourself with the world.
Looking to build an audience and community attracted to your authentic expression.
Desperate for movement but riddled with fear, doubt, and indecision.
Tired of waiting to be plucked from obscurity and ready to take matters into your own hands.
A weekLY overview
Permission: Embrace the desire, understand the value of a platform, how possible it is, and break down the specific programming that makes it feel so hard. Commit to regular publishing. Do it scared, make it shitty, just get it out.
Getting Comfortable: Explore the fears that creating activates and adjust approaches to accommodate or more directly challenge them. Deconstruct scarcity mindset and unhealthy comparison. Play with presentation and style. Have FUN!
Creative Diet: What creative expressions hold value to you? Why? Who or what are you engaging with and responding to? Understand primary, secondary, and tertiary creative sources and cultivate a devoted practice to the source of your inspiration.
Understanding Mission: Define your goal - what are you trying to gain and what ripple effect are you trying to have? Why does it matter? (A scary question, but if you cannot answer it, your inner critic WILL exploit it). Understand who you are talking to on the other side of the screen and get intentional.
Audience Targeting: Understand how your audience consumes and relates to creations. Implement strategies to target and hook them. Learn to spear fish instead of casting the widest net possible.
Cultivating Community: Build trust, intimacy, and connection within your audience and with other creators. Define your boundaries as a creator.
Platform Leveraging: Build a larger web/universe of creativity. Learn how to utilize the resource of attention to effectively further the mission, aka scaling authentically.
Class will be held live via Zoom on Sundays at 1pm PST, 4pm EST from June 7th-July 26th, 2026. Replays available.
